The ending

I dont know if someone already posted what the heck is supposed to happen at the end, but i've got to ask, what was the deal with the ending? the hawks of war are driven off by the doves of peace or something, but is there something else im missing? please post theories or something, because im at a loss.

reply

My theory is the birds went to group therapy and realized they had anger management issues so they quit killing - cold turkey - and flew away.

The sequel will see the earth's turkey population getting uncold from global warming and they will start to attack and kill. Rob and Nat (and the world) will stop it on Thanksgiving.

to be honest, that doesn't sound that bad after watching birdemic. I would watch it.

The birds realized how bad of a movie this is, and decided to skip town.

The seagulls don't leave in The Birds. They're all standing around on the ground enjoying life without humans.

In fact, one of them takes a bite at Taylor's hand when he got too close when they're walking out of the house. And then they have to drive very slowly away because they have to wait for the birds to clear a path.

The ending of this is connected to The Birds in that Nguyen figured it gave him license to not write an ending ("Hitchcock didn't provide an explanation and they think he's brilliant").

*clap*

End of movie.

i didn't understand the ending until i saw the DVD extra about making the movie. apparently, there were doves that talked to the eagles that violence won't solve everything and that not all humans are messing up mother nature, that some people are willing to try to fix things.

reply

Yeah...it's a shame they didn't come up with that idea while they were making the movie.

reply

they kind of did, though they didn't really focus on it or even show how they were actually doves. plus, in watching it in the theater most were just listening to the other audience members making snide and funny comments. this is the type of movie that is best when the audience laughs and make remarks about it.

reply

the doves talked to the eagles and told them to give the humans a chance. there were environmentally friendly people, like ron who did the solar power thing, so they shouldn't take out all their anger on humans.
