Perfume / cologne

The trivia section used to mention the cologne used by Colin Firth in the film, but doesn't anymore.
It's shown in this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IR3AMlDkfI&t=0m17s.
Anyone know what it is?

reply

I don't know really, but here -

and here -

they're talking about Bereavement by Dior.

maybe that's the thing?

reply

That's a joke - Tom Ford made his bones directing perfume ads and it shows, and this film is about a bereaved man.

Thanks for trying to help :)

Oh, sorry for not reading those properly; having maybe hundred of links stored in my PC on the topic of ASM; but it seems that another person asked the same question, here -

Thanks but it doesn't look like Bois Du Portugal in the video I posted though.

Is it possible that Creed used a different bottle in 1962?

reply

It was launched in 1987.

Interesting. There was an interview somewhere not too long ago, where Tom Ford said he would have had his suits made in Saville Row, London on holiday visits, and being from old money, they would have been worn for years - I think it was the same article where Ford said that he would use Creed/Portugal. To my eye, the cap and top of the bottle look right; is it possible they have painted or covered the bottle in black to not give free publicity? I think it is Creed. Not sure if it is on the DVD, but there is a short "Making of The Single Man" there might be additional information on there.

I may say in the DVD perfume/cologne never mentioned in the film or the "Making..."
