Why did Ryan betray the assassination attempt on Anna?

Ryan's betrayal made zero sense. If he had let Anna be assassinated, then Lisa would be leader and he would get his daughter back. Wasn't that his original plan? Why did he deviate from it? By preventing Anna's assassination, he prolonged not seeing his daughter. This was never explained.

Because Anna's bliss relieves his daughter of pain. Yeah, it makes no sense since Lisa would become leader and be able to do the bliss. Also, it never occurred to him that the problem could be healed, or that there was no real problem, and Anna was lying to him?

So, the real answer is...he's an idiot.
