What's this 'soul' storyline about?

I've watched the first half of the first season so far and the show is only OK, I'm waiting for it to get good.

But what irks me is the religious aspect of the show, by having a priest be a main character. Yes, the original V had a priest, but he wasn't really a main character, more just part of the resistance cast.

And now I hear about this storyline where Anna is searching for "souls"?? Akk!

Please tell me that's not true. At least give me a summary of what happens and when in the show so I don't have to watch such bullcrap!

The weird religious stuff keeps popping up through both series. It does seem to make the aliens look more than a little dumb, you'd think that their knowledge of neurobiology would be a little bit better than that of some bod from the middle ages.

It's a strange series full of ridiculous plot holes and general nincompoopery but it does have a few decent surprises to make it bearable.

Youre gonna love the episode in the vatican. ;)
