Why is V only averaging 11 episodes a season?

ST:TNG averaged 25, why can't the producers of V do this? Then the plot wouldn't be so rushed. It'd also be nice if they would give more thought to their writing.

CAN(cbs, abc, nbc) are competing witb specialty networks who eat away at there shows and revenue. In the eighties shows were given larger episode quotas for seasons, and some shows were given a second run, repeating shows like Dallas or any show. It all comes down to ratings. Sadly some shows are cancelled aftef two eps. I rememer original V had a full season commitment. Although it got revamped half way through.

Original V series was 19 episodes. Each was 47 minutes long.

"Small" series are best.

10 - 12 episodes and no more than 4 seasons.

Then, something else.

When things are larger... quality diminishes

reply

When shows are larger, in some cases, the quality often diminishes yes. But in Vs case the quality was diminishing so fast it wouldn't matter if it was 6 episodes or 26 episodes a season. Infact the mere thought of this version of V having more episodes than it did have is terrifying. The show is gone and it's for the best. The writing was piss poor for a start and there were certain characters that killed morale for viewing the show so thats not good either. Anna and Lisa was the best of the cast of characters. In fact I would go so far as saying Anna and Lisa are the only decent characters and even their appeal couldn't combat the crappy writing and irritating characters the writing created. Eric(a)"He Man" Evans is the biggest rash of all!. I think though that the ending for season 2 made up a little for the severe annoyance that Eric(a) Evans is.

NO MORE V!. LEAVE IT BE!. NO MORE V!. LEAVE IT BE!. NO MORE V!. LEAVE IT BE!.

ANNA WON!. V IS DONE!. ANNA WON!. V IS DONE!. ANNA WON!. V IS DONE!.

The child that was born of a visitor and a human willingly got on the shuttle to go see the "V" high commander. She was refered to as the "Star Child" because she was spose to be important to the outcome of the war. But the show was cancelled between seasons.

DVR ratings aren't as important to networks because they aren't as important to advertisers. People skip the commercials. DVR ratings more predict what DVD sales may be. Or now, NetFlix, streaming, whatever.

First networks cut down the episode length (more commercials) and now they cut the number of episodes. This sucks! Consumers need to SPEAK UP!

You should really stop, Kimberly. You're coming off looking outstandingly stupid.

Everything after that is the most pathetic thing I've ever seen on an internet forum, and that's saying a lot.
