Some people I know were talking about how Hangover 2 was going to be amazing, then I MENTION KFP2, and one of then that it was "kiddish". Later, the SAME PERSON says that she loves Finding Nemo. A bit contradicting, as Nemo was a G-rated movie, while this was PG. (Don't even try to bring Antz into the topic, I doubt that persons seen Antz)

I think a movie rating is a bad indicator to see if a movie is "kiddish" or not. Probably your friend just thought this because Kung Fu Panda 2 had quite a lot of slapstick humour.
BTW, I don't think that KFP 2 is kiddish at all.

Movie rating says NOTHING about how childish or not the movie is. just look at dracula getting a G rating. imo MPAA should be jailed for misguiding the humanity about movies. or at least disbanded and all ratings removed. maybe then parents would do actual parenting instead of following som rating blindly.
