Po's Daddy

Coule he have been once a Panda master and Shifu kicked him out because he was well not like po but had a mean steak. Its a perfect plot of Kung Fu Panda 3 to simply have Pohs real dad the villain or a family member. Maybe an evil brother who has Poh fathers anger but Pohs dad learned peace and enlightenment.
Pohs dad should stay the Goose its why i ask.

Highly unlikely. Po's dad was last seen in the cutscene being buried under the rubble from a collapsing building. So were obviously supposed to have believed he had died during the massacre.

Somehow he and several other Pandas survived Shens wrath and presumably fled for their lives. He probably assumed Po and his wife were among the dead and helped form a new settlement. Given his attire, we can guess that he is some kind of kung fu master or mystic and had a vision of his own where he discovered Po was alive.

But if there is a Kung Fu Panda 3, I really cant imagine them making him evil. And Po's dad would still be the goose. It would be like any adopted kid meeting their birth parent years later. Just cause you've met the biological parent, it doesnt stop the one who raised you being your dad.

It's confirmed that there will be six movies =D so don't worry, more character development coming

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.

are there still going to be 6 films

reply

Uh....I saw it yesterday and I don't think it was Po's DAD that got buried under the rubble. It was the little stuffed panda toy Po was carrying around with him. That's why the next part in present time showed Po pulling toy out from under the rubble.

Right on!

Pandas feed on bamboo, so why grow rice?

The last scene of the movie shows Po's dad with a village of surviving Pandas. I know it is Po's dad because he says "my son is alive" (or something along those lines.

reply

I personally think it was a mistake in them having his birth father survive since they spent the entire movie having Po come to terms with his adoption and then finally accept that he is truly Mr. Ping's son. Having his real father alive is a step backwards in my opinion and is only going to cause unnecessary complications for everyone involved.

As a second sequel is a possibility, the plot in that film would probably have Po having to choose between being with his present family and being with his own kind, a plot which has a pretty predictable ending. I'm sure it would be a good film, but I'd kind of prefer if Dreamworks would move on past the whole 'Daddy Issues' plot as in my opinion it's a completed story arc and doesn't need to be messed around with any further. Perhaps more character development regarding the rest of the Furious Five would be nice?

Oh and one other thing, having all those pandas survive kind of weakens the whole emotional impact of the massacre, it felt like a cop-out to me. That last scene is honestly the only quibble I have with the movie however.

So yeah, that's my two cents, feel free to tell me what you think :)

i think it would have been more implausible to have the pandas not there. because if Po was truly the last panda in existence, they would have mentioned it more in the first movie. besides it makes sense as to why Po can learn and master Kung Fu so fast if he inherited his kick-assness from his bioDad.

Not really, it was really lame to see pandas alive, they set up the story hinting they've been killed and po was the last one, but that forced scene to set up a story for KFP3 was lame.

But meh... it's a kids movie, whatever.

Ti Longs comment about The Dragon Warrior being a Panda pretty much says there are Pandas but maybe they are not Kungfu or live in remote villages and they are like the hillbillies who go to the city type of people.
It be funnier if Oogway had other students besides Shifu and OOgway likely picked him based off of being a good being yet familure at the same time.

So, if Po is the last panda, we not gonna have lil cute furry baby Pos,in the future?

Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. - Mr Glass (from one of the best films ever made!)

well. he's not the last panda. And for me the ending in KFP2 is definetely a giveaway for story of KFP3.

We havent thought about some villain in KFP3 that fights against either Po or Po's dad/panda village whereas Po and Dad finally fellow up to fight against some tiranny against the panda village ?

I cant think of a reason why Po's Dad should be a villain, it opens up doors to other stories now. Like what has Po's dad done all the time after he 'left' Po ? Maybe some stories intertwine from KFP1/2 ?

ROFL! i clicked on this because i thought this was about "Mr. Ping"
