The Dark side (spoilers)

Okay so this isn't my opinion it's what i remember hearing back in the movie theater. So that ... peacock dude (I don't feel like mentioning names)at the final battle scene with the ship orders the wolf to fire. The wolf says "but sir that's our own" (something like that) peacock dude said "I don't care... [blah blah blah]" Wolf dude gets mad and says "no" and the peacock throws a blade at killing him. Now, it's only for a split second you can see him fall to the ground, but parents were complaining that this movie showed more "dark" killing then the first. Which is why they wouldn't buy it int he future for their kids.

Anyone else think this? just curious.

Yep but you do see him brutally killed on screen. The character had just done the right thing and had basically become good. For a family film to show a good guy killed with a conventional weapon on screen it is very dark (then again most of the last 20minutes is quite a big change in tone). However if parents said they weren't going to buy the film for that scene that is ridiculous despite how dark it is. Those moments are the many that made me love the movie and it felt like a breath of fresh air. HTTYD 2 seems to go further with these dark elements as well.

He was not a good guy...
He "just" cared for his people, that does not make him good, that just makes him not completely selfish.
