Read the book.
I read this book. It was intellectual and full of very interesting ideas.
But ... I don't see how they could make a movie out of it.
It might be interesting to see if they did.
The book would be a better fit for a mini-series. It's too expansive and epic in scope, and I feel a lot would be lost if adapted into a two-hour movie. I have the same worry about the movie adaption of the phenomenal Hyperion by Dan Simmons which Warner Bros is working on.
shareDefinitely the standard movie format would not be possible. I bet it won't even get made, but I hope it does, just to see what they come up with. It's been years since I read, actually heard, the audiobook, I just remember thinking while I was listening to it ... they'd have a hard time to make the into a movie.
