Q: What is wrong with wanting confinement?

A: It's called "anti-social personality disorder". It's wrong because it denies your nature as a social animal and your obligation as a member of society to contribute. This isn't a trend so much as a course of evolution.

As for sex, you're missing a fundamental human experience; one that requires (when correctly undertaken) a fair amount of social skill and at least the allusion of empathy. "What about," you might ask, "folks who only have sex when they're wasted or as a kind of tagging-for-sport?" To that, I would reply that those people are equally maladjusted because they also are avoiding the intimacy and affection inherent in the act (again, correctly undertaken).

Movies like this show a person's compulsion to have the full human experience and the typical teenage tendency to mistake form for function; signifier for sign. The girl in this film recognizes that she's missing something and does her best to seek it out. And, in the end, she finds that <spoiler>she was missing the connection, not merely the penetration.</spoiler>
