DONNIE MUVFOKING YEN!

Im glad his start doing more hollywood roles

reply

His recent decisions to appear in Hollywood productions may sound exciting but I feel he's going to be wasted again. Fortunately, he has stated that he will continue to work mainly in Hong Kong/China and is only using these opportunities to grow and learn as an actor.

reply

Hollywood keeps wasting Byung-hun Lee, so I can only hope that they won't do the same with Donnie Yen.

I hope he's not as underutilized as Tony Jaa was in Furious 7. For that matter, I hope Tony Jaa isn't as underutilized in this as he was in Furious 7.

That's what I said about Jet Li and Jackie Chen too... then I watched their US movies and regretted it. (Kiss of the dragon is dope though, but more of a french movie than an American one if we want to be honest.)

reply

Yes Kiss of the Dragon was a movie made by Luc Besson who also did Unleashed. Those two are the only Jet Li movies worth watching outside of China and they were as you said, more of a European take than Hollywood.

Jackie Chan has not made a single respectable action movie outside of China. He has instead been reduced to comedies and type casting alongside other Hollywood stars. Rush Hour was an okay movie but it is garbage compared to what Jackie Chan is actually capable of.

I thought when Stallone cast Jet Li into the Expendables he was going to be utilized better but nope...Stallone ends up being the worse offender by making Jet Li's character a laughable stereotype and more of a comic-relief. Absolute waste yet again.

reply

I wonder what took him so long.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

Him and Tony Jaa both, love their movies. Though I'm afraid that Hollywood will have the effect on them that it had on Jackie Chan. Western fight choreographers won't work with proper filming, so I'm worried we'll never see punches and kicks actually land, and that they'll resort to the triple cut instead...

reply

The only good thing about this movie.
