big fan of original but trailer looks terrible :(

I am a huge fan of the original XXX, I was around 13 years old when it came out. Maybe it's nostalgia or because I was young at the time, but I really liked the original movie. It was easy to follow, had its funny moments, tons of cool cars, solid action, hot women, the GTO chase scene, the part where Vin grabs the rocket launcher and says "blow **** up". It even had a little bit of emotion to it; Vin getting angry when he was forced to stay in Czech or whatever country they were in as Samuel L. Jackson kept changing the rules and using him. I've actually been wanting this sequel for many years now.

Now I haven't seen it yet, but I spotted the trailer the first time when seeing another movie earlier this week. And I can't help but think how terrible it looks. 😖 This looks like another generic 2010's-style action movie with no decent storyline or character development whatsoever. I'll still probably go see it, but I'm not feeling too good about this one.

I hate to say it, but Vin looks too old for this now too. I feel this should have been made at least 5-7 years ago. Dude's pushing 50 now and it's showing; his chest is getting flabby, his face looks old, the girl looks like she's young enough to be his daughter. In fact, maybe they should have embraced his age; instead of trying to make him 2002-style Cage, they should have had him matured/older, maybe he doesn't want to take as many risks, his moves are more calculated. But I guess writers are too dumb to think of complex things like that these days.
