2/10: Sadly mindless with unrealistic stunts and brainless foes.

First I want to applaud whoever had the bright idea to release a summer blockbuster (which this clearly tries to be) during winter/spring...

In short:
Summer blockbuster with extremely unrealistic stunts and action. Acting ruined by constant grandstanding and over the top stunts/actions. If you liked the expandables and want a "children friendly" version that isn't near as well crafted this might be for you.

In longer:
This is "classic" Hollywood, none of the good guys ever die, unless it is near the start to motivate the hero(es).

So how could this have been made a little entertaining?
Decrease the amount of known actors, it draws too many plotlines in - yes if you want to create a team for future movies this might be it but it does not serve the movie - if you can't give a good backstory or a realistic one: don't give one...
Cinematography is too stressed and choppy at times, using new way to shoot - as POV, or motion stabilistion on the stuntman while going downhill would have made a world of difference (yes it would have driven up the cost for the shots but it could also have allowed less stunts while giving more adrenalin to the viewers.

If you want the viewer to feel an adrenalin rush you have to make the dangers realistic - if that means killing of a couple of characters or several damaging them - then do so.

Pro's
• Budget
• 3-4 of the main actors were allright
• Bits and pieces or the martial arts and sweeping patterns were ok (the vast majority - not so much).

Con's
• Over the top
• Extremely over the top (hyperbole necessary)
• Acting seems off (possibly due to the missing depth in dialogue)
• Missing gore and grit
• Unrealistic violence

End notes:
What is it? This Jen, is the internet! (IT-crowd).
*Yes I do realise it's not the same actress, if you thought i did you missed the point.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.

The whole movie was based on a false premise. Satellites reentering earth's atmosphere typically burn up, but any remaining pieces are small and are spread over hundreds of square miles, rendering them useless for use in damaging any one specific target. Deorbiting a satellite or even controlling it for other purposes is virtually impossible as well.
