Meh

The film was meh, specially the villain, whoever was the writer, he or she forgot to get that part right. Who was the villain? The woman that hired Xander Cage in the first place, the US Government, or the suit in Detroit? Also, at the scene with Xander surrounded by SWAT in Dominican Republic. I knew it was fake from the get go, Dominican Republic police cannot afford SWAT gear, Puerto Rico gave away bulletproof vests to gear them up last year, and the Puerto Rican government is broke AF! Dominican economy has kept a steady growth of 5% per year, they should be able to pimp their own police force, I assume some suits over there have overflowing, foreign bank accounts... hmmm...

... Back on topic, film is weak sauce, wait for it to get into Red Box or TV. I gave it 3/10 for those godesses on the cast, including the sniper.

It's meant to be a mindless entertainer. Do you really think it's supposed to be analysed seriously when you have all those reality defying stunts happening every 10 minutes?

reply

I know, the comment about the fake cops was tongue in cheek, however, as mindless as it was, I still feel who the real villain is was overlooked.

It's not meant to be taken so seriously. I thought it was a really fun watch.
