I haven't seen the film yet but all the trailers out now are making a point of showing that Ice Cubes Darius Stone from the second movie shows up to help Xander Cage at some point. I just feel like it's a waste showing that in the trailers, I think the audience would have a lot more fun in those scenes if they didn't know it was gonna happen. Now everyone's just gonna be waiting for it to happen, instead of being genuinely surprised to see it.

shareMy expectations are not super high for this, but as someone who really didn't like State of the Union I'm thankful they took the time to spoil ties to that movie so I wouldn't come out being surprised that they bothered keeping it canon.

Seriously, they showed that in the trailer?! I guess it's a good thing I didn't watch any of the trailers. I had a nice chuckle when he was revealed in the film. It was a really silly move by their PR team.

The trailer i saw didn't had him, im glad cause the surprise was nice, i enjoyed his scene when he arrive. Second movie is not bad, its just not in the Xander zone thats all :P

I agree. For that reason I did not watch the trailer.
I hoped Darius would make an appearance, and it is one of the things I liked about the film.
This movie was desperate to kickstart itself again and it seemed like Paramount really wanted to squeeze any juice they could into making that happen. Diesel fans, Ice Cube fans, just give them your money.

To be honest I had not seen Ice Cube in any of the trailers but was pretty stoked to see him pop up in the movie :)
