Quote from the director

In this month's issue of UK horror magazine The Dark Side, there's a direct quote from director David Gordon Green about this movie;

'My effort is to make it as human and relatable as we can, and not get so caught up in the far-out supernatural of it'.

Most of us see an Exorcist movie with certain wants and expectations. And 'far-out supernatural' is pretty near the top of the list!

The guy hasn't a clue what he's doing. I haven't seen this yet but his work on Halloween Kills and Ends was dire.

One quote that did give me some confidence months ago was when DGG said that slasher movies like Halloween are meant to entertain and not to be taken too seriously whilst that The Exorcist is something more serious. Gave me a glimmer of hope that the shitshows he churned out were his foolish attempt to entertain everyone and that he'd treat this I.P. with more respect.

Everyone is saying how utterly boring this movie is. Your shared quote showcases another worrisome sign that he's completely drained any life out of this movie and churned out the most basic and simple possession movie known to man.

He's not a good director, not for the horror genre anyway.
