COTC Most Absurd Moments: Horrible Child Acting

I was so hoping the kid that played Isaac was going to get killed -he sucked so bad! Wasn't creepy, wasn't believable and was mostly just annoying. They let him ramble on and on and it was just so painful to listen to. All the other kids were pretty bad too, but he was simply the worst and ruined any chance this remake had of being half decent.

The problem with the kid?'

He just doesn't look menacing!

Think of it. He's already small for his age, wears an oversized cowboy hat, short pants, and we're supposed to be SCARED of him?

I don't think so.

I thought Isaac was great in this movie. You have to remember than John Franklin was 25-years-old when he filmed the original, so he was obviously more mature than a 9-year-old would be and could better understand some of the deeper themes and underlying messages of the character. Also, his lines of dialogue (especially the long speeches) would probably very difficult to memorize for an adult much less a little kid. He pulled it off very well. I think he did a very good job, especially for someone of such a young age.

Death lives in the Vault of Horror!

Agreed 100%. I just got finished watching this turkey of a movie, and thought whoever cast him as the kiddie-preacher must've had rocks for brains. He was like DJ during the first season of Roseanne: mumbling, incoherant, comical, etc. Not a bad actor necessarily, just an abysmally inaccurate choice of casting for this role.

First thing I noticed too was how bad an actor he was among an entire group of bad actors. Just terrible.
