If you look at the ratings breakdown, the IMDB staff gives this thing an 8 out of 10.
Obviously the fix is in, and IMDB knows it's bread is buttered by all the advertising the film paid for on this site.

Has been discussed to death here months ago. Originally, somebody from the staff rated it 1 out of 10. That rating then suddenly vanished, being replaced by 10.

Nobody goes from rating a film a "1", then decides they want to sit through the same drek for masochistic reasons, and then decides the film deserves a 9 or 10 instead.

You're talking to the person who rates movies 1/10 but haven't watched them. In his world everything is possible, so is drastic change of rating.
shareReminds me of the "ratings wars" or whatever you want to call it from years ago here on IMDB, where everyone was rating "Manos", "Superbabies" and some German movie trying to get it on the bottom of the list while others would vote them up to keep them off the bottom.
I don't think more than 5 people out of the thousands of votes had even heard of the movies before, let alone watched them.
