There is a formula that works and for people who seem to love making money they keep deviating from that to make these little social engineering exercises that no one is interested in, we just want to be entertained, we don't want or need the lectures.
Just make good fun films, is that so hard? I guess it is.
Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.
Deadpool from the casting, to the promotional campaign they did, to the film posters, and to the movie itself was awesome. The film had a solid plot and was true to the comics. Funny as hell and was balls to the wall. They basically threw out that abomination that was using Deadpools name and corrected it. The X-Men franchise from The Wolverine up until Deadpool has really recovered from X-Men 3 and Origins Wolverine.
Deadpool was rumored to be PG13 at one point, the fans said NO and started bashing the film. Then weeks later Reynolds said it will be R guys don't worry.
I hope to god that they will listen and do the same with SS. I'm not a Deadpool fan but I did think the movie was okay. But I don't want SS being held back.
If SS is PG13, it will piss off fans imo. Not as much as lets say Expendables 3 or Terminator 5 but, enough for bad word of mouth. After the success of Deadpool and its R rating, they should follow in it's footsteps.

I have 2 theories on that. One, Reynolds and Co leaked the PG-13 Rumor to force FOX into giving them the R rating. Two, Reynolds and Co floated the PG-13 rumor in one of the best marketing campaigns ever. Float the rumor then, confirm the rumor as part of an April Fools joke. Then beat Slater over the head with lighting. 😂

I loved Deadpool. I don't actually mind this GB reboot and will wait until I see the film in theaters before I judge it.
The PG13 thing was about a Woman wanting a PG13 version for her little boy & other kids as her son really liked Deadpool. With both PG13 & R version released at the same time.
Agreed. Most of the studios are suddenly realising that you make movies that respect and are faithful to the franchise, respect the fans, it actually leads to success. Unfortunately Sony is still not one of those studios. They are stuck in to past where these films are targeted purely towards mainstream, non fans and are a kick in the balls to fans and a mockery of the franchise and will inevitably fail. Even if it makes some money at the box office it will be quickly forgotten without fans support.

Even more importantly, Deadpool is an example of a comedy movie written by people who are actually funny. Something else Sony decided not to do by hiring Paul Feig.
SPOILERS: Rosebud is a sled, Snape kills Dumbledore, Ned Stark dies.

Paul Feig has the potential to be funny... his ego is so inflated now after one successful movie that he thinks he knows what the fans want better than what the fans actually do want.
Ghostbusters 2016 deserved to fail and he deserves to have all of the blame placed on him for his terrible choices.
