Clearly I'm overthinking it

So if Im a looper and they want to close my contract. I kill myself from the future. Then I get paid some money a live out my days for the next 30 years. Heres the problem. If I kill my future self, knowing this, wouldn't I just take the money and avoid the mistakes that I made to get my future self killed. I obviously did something with the mob. But still. It doesnt make any sense. Plus if I do get sent back into time and get killed, who would kill me. Would there be a double? This *beep* makes no sense what so ever.

Why would it be mistakes that led to a predestined Loop-back? OLD JOE was actually turning his life around and agents from the Mafia still found him. Perhaps the "Tagging System" assists in world-wide tracking.

Basically, IF your older double exits and you ice them... There's a very good chance that nothing can be changed. However, if you fail to ice them and they run the loop, free-will becomes more evident. Changes abound. And in the end, the Parent Loop (Abe) still holds all the cards and hacks off your bits until your OLD dies and then you die.

Yes. If you're presented with your OLD DOUBLE and ice them; then live out your 30(+/-) year contract; then get sent back in time; then get iced by a new YOUNG DOUBLE, then yes, it's Doubles all the way down. One Double for every temporal fold. And IF the Past (as you OR old double knew it) can be changed, then it stands to reason that there are an infinite number of Doubles--including ones where you're never recruited at all because the Parent Loop (Abe) failed.

Enjoy these words, for one day they'll be gone... All of them.
