Compare the ear lobes of old joe(Willis) and young Joe(Gordon-Levitt) completely different so obvious they ain't the same person. Bad continuity. Lol

Well, as soon as we discover OLD SETH comes back with all his limbs, we know beyond doubt these are unique doubles (zero continuity).

Then we discover, via the Mutilation Contingency Plan, that these unique doubles are still tethered somehow someway BUT only while the LOOP is open.

The temporal loop is an anomaly. The tethered "updates" are a form of error/exception correction.

There would have to be a marker/ID of sorts for the "universe" to know where to send the tethered update(s).

Perhaps evidence of "soul."
