The loop it kept showing of Caroline, I'm wondering if I have the right idea of what was happening. Did the demon screen record her and then put it on a repeating loop for her friends (aside from the part where it sent her death files). And is that something Zoom can do (record a video then play it back) or just suspension of disbelief for the movies sake?

I really enjoyed the movie. Put it off for a long time because I didn't think it looked good, but damn I was wrong.

I can't remember if the demon recorded her, or if it was the recording from earlier, but if you know what you are doing you can put a recording on loop on zoom. (I don't know how) There was a member of zoom group I was a part of during lockdown who used to do it all the time, and it was really annoying.

I really enjoyed the movie too, and think that maybe I should watch it again.

I liked it too.

The director, Rob Savage, has a new film coming out next month, The Boogeyman, based off a Stephen King short. With writing credits for Beck & Woods (A Quiet Place, Haunt, 65). It was originally meant to be a direct-to-streaming film but the test screenings went so well that it's got bumped up to a theatrical exclusive, that recently happened with both Smile and Evil Dead Rise.

I'm interested in seeing how he does as a director with a moderately budgeted horror flick, outside of the found footage sub-genre.

Only downside I guess is it's PG-13, but so was The Ring (2002), Insidious (2010) and M3gan (2022). PG-13 Horror can work at times.

Thanks for the reply. I only use Zoom now and then so I guess I was mostly wondering if they used a real feature while filming or if the demon was manipulating the program however it wanted. Now I know lol.

There probably would have been a bit of editing involved. But it is possible. 😊
