I keep remembering this movie and that I need to watch it. But title is so meaningless and forgettable that I just can't remember it. And literally had to go to wikipedia on Julia Roberts page to see how her last movie is titled and then put it in "Search" tab. And I had to do this again now while writing this post. As I forgot how movie is called again. And I REALLY tried to remember it. But it's always skip away from my memory.
Movie has to have good, cool and short name. For people to instantly remember it. Who decided to call it "Leave the World Behind" is an idiot.
To be fair, the title is pretty easy to misremember as slight variations such as "Leaving the world behind", "The world left us behind", "We left the world behind" etc
Ha, I had the same problem a couple of times when I was mentioning to someone, about a dozen phrases were going through my head and I had to look up Julia's movies to remember it in the end.
Title is so forgettable that it will hurt the movie since people can't even remember it now. No one will remember it in few months and years. To even discuss. While short titles like Alien, Get Out, Smile, Megan, Nun, Quiet place, Halloween, Bird Box, Creator, Finch, Snowpiercer... are easy to remember.
People can't even recommend this movie to friends. "The Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke apocalypse movie. Forget how its' called".
Just reading this at the end of the thread, I saw the red notification and flicked straight to your comment, I literally can't remember what the movie's title is. End of times? This is the end? The last times? When the world ends? Getting away from it? What the f*ck is it?
Yep. Same thing. Words keep mashing up in my head when I try to remember.
Too many similar titles with same phrases. "This is the end', "End of Times", "At the worlds end", "The World is not enough", "Day after Tomorrow", "Let me in", "Left Behind", "Behind Enemy Lines"...
HA, this is just bizarre. A genuine phenomenon. Did they do this on purpose? I look at the title, and 30 seconds later I can't remember it. It's some kind of hypnosis.
This is one reason Hitchcock used a lot of one word titles...Blackmail, Rebecca, Suspicion Saboteur
Lifeboat Spellbound Notorious Rope Vertigo Psycho Marnie Topaz Frenzy
It's funny you post this, because I've been wanting to watch this, but I'd forgotten the name.
I checked the "in theaters" section of moviechat, but of course it's not there because it's not in theaters.
So I searched the web for "end of the world movie," but came up empty and then had to modify it to "end of the world movie netflix 2023" to see what I needed.
Then I came back to moviechat only to see your post. Good times.
Omg thank you for making me feel less stupid. After googling three times “Obama movie Netflix” to find it ( including once after watching it) I finally made an effort to memorize it. I thought this was the onset of dementia.
You think you remember it now. But believe me - you will forget it again in a week or two.
I know from experience. I thought I finally remembered it too. Then I wanted to open it's page here in few days after not thinking about it anymore. And I forgot again.
Is the title for this movie inspired by the Foreigner song "Cold as Ice"? That's the only instance I can think of someone using the phrase "leave the world behind" before this film came out.
