Aside from Cooper's performance, this was a horrible film.

The writing was completely obvious and soap opera-esque. The lighting and set pieces gave the film a very porno look to me. There was almost no real "action" to be spoken of, and with *beep* dialogue like that, it just made the film drag like no other. It was such an interesting premise that I wish was put into the right hands.

Dominic Cooper gave a great performance who knew?
Well done son !!

I enjoyed the film very much, I can't judge on how accurate or inaccurate the story was but taking it as entertainment and a movie it was very good.
Saddam's son was a nutter, was he this bad? Maybe maybe not. It's not a documentary or a history lesson just a film based on a few books and they don't state that it's true. But I would say it's based on how they governed and lived.
The background is truthful to a degree, the main tale being told is probably greatly exaggerated.
Non-the-less a good tale entertaining and well worth seeing if only for Dominic Cooper's performance.

I thought cooper's performance was horrible as well.

I completely agree. It's a shame that his performance will be neglected, because Lee Tamahori did, once again,a terrible job...

Completely agree with OP. Cooper was excellent, I thought, but the film was pretty dire. A soap opera with graphic violence thrown in.
