shades of Scarface

going through some of these posts i have read that in alot of ways this film is reminiscant of brian de palmas Scarface...
from the very first time i caught the trailer in the theater for some reason Scarface came to mind...
but after watching the film they really have absolutely nothing to do with one another but i think they did try and give the vibe of the 1983 classic..piles of cocaine, powerful men chomping cigars, beautiful women, wild discos, guns, guns and more guns, psychotic behavior and abuses of power..oh and in final Dominic Cooper in his finely cut armani suits did his best to give the perception of Tony Montana but that may be the extent of it..i keep hereing this film is just like scarface..i can see that they tried to give it the look and feel of scarface..but its no scarface..
on the other hand i thought this film was outstanding on its own merit..acting was great great production and the story was really good..really good film

Yes, the 80s feeling of ultimate power was there just like in Scarface, but set in a Muslim world. Tony Montana was nothing like Uday though. Tony wouldn't hurt an innocent. In fact Tony would have chopped Uday to pieces with a chainsaw just for thinking of raping a woman.

Just imagine the scene:

Tony: This could have been ma sister you cock-a-roach! *pulls chainsaw cord*

Uday: Please Tony, I'll do anything you say!

Tony: Shut the *beep* up you piece of sh*t and say hello to ma lil' friend! *prompt dismemberment ensues*

I'm wasting Time... before Time wastes me.
