Based on Fact??
Just check out his wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latif_Yahia sounds pretty dubious that the film is based on fact.

a quote from that link...
Latif, 46, says: “The movie is only 20% of the truth. The director wasn’t going to put everything in because we don’t want to make a horror movie. They edited a lot of horrible stuff out because it was too much.
Latif is a guy who made millions out of his story. The problem is: No-one seems to be able to verify what he is saying. Or in other words: He's made the whole thing up. http://www.edcaesar.co.uk/article.php?article_id=55
No-one disputes that Uday was an evil nutcase. This is probably the 20% truth. The 80%, i.e. the whole body double thing and Latif's role, is a work of Latif's imagination.

Well it's a movie.. A lot of stuff depicted in it probably did happen in a similar but not so cinematic way..
If I'm not mistaken this Latif once hired some investigators and journalist to fact check his book and story to refute claims from others that he had simply made all of it up. They didn't find any fallacies. Although I'm sure there is the fair amount of exaggeration.
