I still can't figure out why Latif Yahia thought he could refuse Uday's offer. Did he really think Uday was the kind of person who would take no for an answer?
Wouldn't it have been a first if he did?

Just saw the movie and loved it. We had to go downtown to see the movie, not our local cinema, where they show indies and foreign movie, so it must not have a very wide release.

Just looked up the books and they are very expensive and out of print. Hopefully, with the release of the movie, the books will become more readily available.

It is kind of odd how things related to this story are a bit out of reach.

Most of the writer's work is out of print I think. He was scared for his life when he wrote his most recent book, as it talks about the rendition methods of the CIA and War on Terror...it seems like he has spent much of his life just trying to survive. The content of it is a big enough deal that he was worried he was going to be thrown in Guantanamo.

It is all really ironic in a sense because while the US was really upset over some of the content of his latter books, they used one of his first ones as a selling point for the invasion of Iraq.

They are hard enough to get a hold of that on Amazon, the only review of his most recent book was by a reviewer who was sent a copy by Latif himself.

Spending the money could be worth it as the books don't get reprinted, they should only accumulate in value.

the reason it is in german, is because Latif WROTE IT IN GERMAN!!

I'm leaning towards Latif being a good conman. I've not read the book, but I'm assuming it's pretty much fiction. The things he says are all disputed or no evidence.
