Did they ever say anything to explain her not looking middle eastern? Aside from thinking she wasn't very attractive, I found it distracting that it was obvious that she wasn't one of them.
I'm wondering if they said something about that or explained it, and maybe I just missed it. Or were we just not supposed to notice?

I dont think anyone knows, but in the middle east particularly if they are muslim/arab women they cannot go dancing like that or be any man's girlfriend, it is forbidden. so they get Lebanese, Moroccan or Russian girls. Lebanese or Moroccan are not really strict in terms of this, its not a crime to be a girlfriend or anything. They are more liberal.
Muslim/Arabs they like white women or Arabic (ethnicity) women, that is the only criteria they want/like. nothing else. ive noticed arabs really like white women/men , look up to them, nobody knows this but its what ive noticed in real life as well as in movies. its not a big seret. lawrence of arabia if youve seen it. the guy was blonde and blue eyed and was spared from death so many times it was ridiculous.
