Ludivine Sagnier ruined the movie

This is actually my first post on this board, for the main reason that I dont critic poeple at something they're still better than me.

But now since this line has been passed, i have to ask: Why Ludivine Sagnier? She doesn't fit in the role at all. Her acting, walking, mimic, talking,... It just ruined the movie for me at least.

There are so many talented actors (like Golshifteh Farahani, she would have been perfect for the role, ebing middle eastern herself), I cant and wont understand why they chose Ludivine

I just came on here to post the same thing, and saw yours. Her acting was terrible, especially the last line she says, I felt like I was watching a high school play the delivery was so bad!

Please go and watch some of Ludivine's fine acting in very well made and respected films (by directors no less than Chabrol, Ozon, Honoré etc) and read about her awards, then come back here to tell how bad of an actress she is...

She might have fooled me, but she didn't fool my mother.

I wouldn't say she ruined it; to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to her, so if her performance was 'bad', then it was for this reason.

"Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?!"

I always enjoy Ludivine Sagnier (and even more when she's naked), but this wasn't her vehicle. Her performance wasn't bad, but even if it was, she didn't have a big enough part to ruin anything.

Yeah, she isn't Iraqi, but neither is most of the cast. She is FRENCH though and she had to act in ENGLISH. It's not surprising this isn't her best role ever.

The film would be much better if it had scenes of Saddam whipping tied up Sagnier instead of Latif.
