'Scarface'.... starring Bugs Bunny as Tony Montana

Am I the only one that found Uday unintentionally funny and cartoonish? He was like Bugs Bunny with those goofy teeth and that irritating silly high pitched whiny voice.
I'd love to see a re-edit of this film by the Zucker Brothers.

I'm very surprised at the 7.1 rating, and all the serious discussions surrounding this film. It's just a shallow 'Made-for-TV' quality film with gratuitous teen slasher flick style framed gore/shock scenes.

Yea, we get it. Uday is an evil psycho bastard. This film is just a bunch of 'evil bastard' scenes designed to shock or disgust. Everything in-between the "look how evil Uday is" scenes is just WTF filler nonsense. There's no real plot.
Just like a made-for -TV movie, the bad guys are REALLY bad and the good guys are REALLY good. Throw in the 'hooker with a heart of gold' cliche, and you've locked in the lowest common denominator.

Latif was doing a Jesus impression. Sarrab was like animated Tupperware doing a parody of Mae West.
Saddam looked like a superimposed CGI afterthought.... oddly portrayed as an autistic Mexican unable to form complete sentences. (Was he really that catatonic in real life?)
The sex scenes were as generic and silly as any late 1970's MTV hard rock video.

I've been reading IMDB for a decade, but I just now registered in order to vent about just how irritatingly stupid this film is.
It's abhorrently over-rated at 7.1

"There's nothing wrong with me that a couple of whores and a bottle of whiskey could't fix."

Yeah that's the problem I had, and it spoiled the movie for me tbh. I kept laughing everytime he was on screen, with his bugs bunny teeth and ridiculous screeching voice everytime he had a hissy fit. Pure comedy.

Agreed 100% with the OP. This film gets a 1 from me.

A 1? Wow, you suck horribly at rating movies then. This film might not be an even semi-accurate biography of Uday or Latif by any means, but it was sure as hell an entertaining movie with good acting, it deserves no less than a 6, though I would understand why somebody would give it a 5.

Only a troll, an ultra-sensitive person who is easily offended, or a moron with an absolutely horrible taste in movies would give this film a 1 though.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

Idiots on the Internet give films either 10 or 1.

This is also the reason why YouTube ditched their original 5-star rating, replacingt it with either like or dislike.

'Scarface'.... starring Freddie Mercury as Tony Montana

OMG, I've trying to think of who DC reminded me of with those teeth...and you've totally pinned it! Now I think he needs to be cast in a Freddie Mercury bio-pic.

don't insult the wacky wabbit

Uday was like that. He looked goofy.

There was no MTV in the 1970s.

jakemccoy... you really are quite ignorant aren't you?

reply

What the hell.. Are you inside my brain? You described exactly what I think about this movie.
It's not even a B-movie..
But Uday is worth the movie - damn he's funny. He's not so insane that he's scary - he's so insane that he's funny which is actually sad because I bet he was a real bastard in real life.
His father seemed remarkably sane when you think about it - this is the man who gassed his own people.

The climax of fun was when Latif tried to kill Uday and the guard let him go because Latif spared his life in the parking lot. The guard knew that his whole family (all the way to his 9th cousins) would die if he let Latif go (whether or not it was known he let him go...the fact that Latif had escaped would be enough) but hey Latif was THAT important, right? hahahahahahahahahaha!
