Occupy Wall Street protesters scene... prediction or response?

The opening was sort of surprising to me - did they shoot that scene with the anti-WallStreet protesters before or after the actually movement began? It began on September 17 so perhaps they had time to work it in... but still, it was a pretty integral scene, so I think it must've been in the script. That was cute.

If anyone has the script that leaked in June, that'd settle things.

Filming began in September of last year and ended before 2011.

Thanks for info - maybe the trailer inspired the Occupy Wall Street movement

I wondered this as well - knowing that the movie was filmed last year, I thought maybe they did some quick reshoots to go along with the OWS movement, but if it was in the trailers, I guess not! Very cool - you know the filmmakers were high-fiving each other when OWS started.

Lol I loved the signs the protesters were holding
"wall street sucks" "wall street 2 sucks harder"

There are things that go bump in the night and we are the ones that bump back

I was an extra in that scene and we shot it on one of the hottest days in August 2010 (the temp was 90+ degrees) and EVERYONE was miserable.

People were protesting greed long before the Occupy movement, and they're still protesting now that Occupy is dead.
