Better stoner movies Cheech+Chong or Harold+Kumar?
Both have different vibes...C&C seemed more improv based and laid back, while H&K was more intense w crasser humor (compared to C&C that is saying alot).

Cheech and Chong was probably pretty crass for its time. Their first movie is brilliant, second one is decent, everyone after that was garbage. And they made like 7 total. It's better to go off on a high note. IMO, all 3 Harold and Kumar films are enjoyable so they got the edge.
share....well H& K are visually more apealling and have snappier lines than C & C
...but C & C were actually doing the drugs they potrayed on film...you got the feel it could turn into a snuff film at any time
The H & K movies are much, much better, its not even in question TBH.

the first Cheech&Chong was and still is the best stoner movie out there.
"...but they hung him anyway."
"Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry."
I love the Harold and Kumar movies, but since I grew up with Cheech and Chong, I will give them the edge. For the guy who said only the first 2 Cheech and Chong movies are good, I disagree. I think "Nice Dreams" and the very underrated "Things are tough all over" are great movies. I love pretty much all stoner movies like "How High", "Half Baked", "The Stoned Age", "Pineapple Express", "Knocked Up", "Idle Hands" , "Friday", "Next Friday" , "Fear and loathing in las vegas", "Dead man on campus", "Ted", "Jay and silent bob strike back", "Get him to the greek"
shareI also grew up with Cheech and Chong, which probably explains a lot, but for some reason, the Harold and Kumar films connect better with me. I think Cheech and Chong were too late out of the starting gate for making movies in 1978, and by the '80s they just felt like throwbacks. Had Cheech and Chong started making films a few years earlier, say in the early or mid-'70s, they would have cemented their brand of humor much more effectively onscreen in my opinion.
I find it kind of surprising because I generally give the home-court advantage to movies of the '70s and '80s, but I have to hand it to Harold and Kumar here because these films are consistently imaginative and hilarious – regardless of the stoner quotient.
Cheech and Chong started with a stage act and comedy albums; their movies were just doing some of the same skits in front of a camera, with a few props.
Harold and Kumar are a totally different style of comedy -- more sophisticated in every respect, though still with enough slapstick to ensure they're still movies for stoners.
