What Shows Were in Parks and Rec's Time Slot on the Other Networks?

I think it's obvious... the humor isn't exactly "mainstream". It's a tad more intelligent, quirky, and offbeat.

The show wasn't meant for the mass. I once saw statistics that showed most of P and R's audience belonged mostly to the upper and middle class group.

And tbh, season 6 was kinda horrible. They even admitted S6 was the show's ending and that S7 was only supposed to tell us how their lives ended up-- therefore no comedic touch to it.

I'm not sure about the earlier seasons, but later seasons it was moved around a lot, which couldn't have helped it, and it was frequently facing big shows like The X Factor, The Big Bang Theory, and Grey's Anatomy.

I would think you'd have to look at the shows that were on NBC around that time as well. P&R had to compete with The Office, 30 Rock, and Community. All great shows, and they were on the same network! I remember between 2009 and 2014 I rarely ever saw advertising for P&R. Only time I really noticed P&R was when the show had it's farewell season last year. I vaguely remember watching episodes in it's earlier seasons, but I was definitely more interested in The Office, 30 Rock, and Community at the time. I just feel like NBC kind of pushed them aside until The Office and 30 Rock wrapped, and then when Community was taken off NBC, P&R was standing alone. I binge watched P&R in about 9 days last summer, and I was honestly upset at myself I didn't pay more attention to this show during it's run lol. Especially cuz I was a fan of Amy when she was on SNL. Honestly it's such a great show and was totally underrated. Any time anyone asks for suggestions for shows to watch, P&R is first on my list.
