Hi ! Spoiler, just finished watching the entire show
They never addressed the documentary? They all talked to the camera, like the office style but at the very end never mentioned what happened with that and also never even acknowledged the camera people at the end who would have been so part of their lives, they were even followed into their homes and on vacation ! Maybe I missed this? Thoughts?
I think originally it was supposed to be a spin off of the office but they changed their minds to make it a workplace comedy with the mockumentry style. Hope this helps!
shareI think that's pretty much it. It's just a different style. Even on The Office they didn't really acknowledge or reference the documentary until the last couple of seasons. With this show it was basically just making use of the talking heads to have a different flow to everything.

I think it's more about breaking the fourth wall. They constantly jump back and forth for camera angles and film in places where no camera crew would have been allowed.
