The Office Clone
But Being low level politics. I tried but could never get into it.
shareIt was marketed as an Office sin-off on launch. I think technically they are in the same universe but I don't know how that would explain Rashida being in both.

It's been the same for me, so far. I haven't even gotten to s.3 yet, but when I found that their crown jewel episode, Hunting Trip, inserted as a bonus feature in the season 6 DVD set of The Office, was just fair, I wasn't optimistic about my future with the show.
I wonder what percentage of huge Parks n Rec fans were huge fans of The Office. Maybe the same as the percentage of huge Office fans who were also huge fans of the British one? 'Bout 17 percent?
Except this show is probably closer to mimicking The Office than The Office is to mimicking the original. (Understandably, I guess.) Leslie Knope is the biggest offender. She's Michael Scott minus the likability that made you empathize with him. Steve Carell claims he watched as little of the original as possible so he wouldn't end up doing an impression of Ricky Gervais's character. Do you think Amy Poehler could say the same about Steve Carell's character?
(p.s. I don't.)
It's a fine show, but it lacks the magic that made The Office play like a symphony through its first 5 seasons. But magic is in the eye of the beholder, and since I had fallen in love with Jenna Fischer by the end of season 1, it was certainly in mine.

Yeah, I agree.
I don't even MIND if this show is not 'as good' or if it lacks things and whatnot, if it just gave me SOME reason to watch it.
So far this is like watching random 'TV noise' while listening to white noise for hours, minus the likability and excitement.
I just don't get it. What is the viewer supposed to get out of this?
I had the same result with the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' (although the show almost immediately shows multiple cloudy days, so even the title is right away a massive lie), I just don't get what you are supposed to get out of watching it. Granted, I only watched the first season mostly, but still.
Shouldn't a show grab you by the end of its first season anyway? I mean, look at Seinfeld, IMMEDIATE hook.
WHY do people watch these shows? Because there's nothing else to do? Is there something I am missing here?
I actually think it's more similar to 30 Rock. Quirky, funny woman addicted to her job with a boss who has very strong political leanings....

It's funny, initially i didn't give this show much of a chance because it reminded me too much - stylistically anyway - of The Office (a show that quite frankly never did much for me). But somewhere down the road I decided to give some more episodes a watch, and surprisingly I found myself enjoying this show more than I ever would have thought possible. I believe it has a certain charm and humor, plus the cast is terrific.
