Why the title?

PIG or Pig? Either way, what's the meaning behind it? In Germany it was Identity Report.

Identity Report makes much more sense. PIG doesn't really fit this film.

I agree, although Identity Report almost sounds generic, especially after Minority Report and Identity. It might be okay if it weren't for other films having similar titles. Then again, PIG makes no sense, unless there's something I don't know. I researched the meaning behind that title and found nothing. Maybe just come up with something fairly original? Something having to do with the story, the characters, the plot, the theme? If the other two hadn't been made yet, then Identity Report might be okay on its own. The movie was interesting, but it would be nice if more thought went into titles. Then again, I thought "Predestination" was totally generic and I never even planned on seeing it. It just sounded like typical stuff and seemed corny and lame. I finally watched it and it blew me away. So much for titles.

Yeah, "Predestination" as a movie title is terrible. Sounds like a student project. "A Man Who Impregnate Herself" would be a better title. Maybe.

Or maybe not.

At first it doesn't seem like a likely title. To give it away is a big SPOILER. The main character is guilty of a crime, which he admittedly did because he is a "selfish pig" (his own words). You won't understand until the very end, but then it makes great sense and fits perfectly. Loved this thoughtful and original movie.

As in ... guinea.

reply

But a guinea pig is not a pig. That's like saying cucumber as in sea cucumber. Totally different thing.
