Not Suitable for Vending Machine Rental?

I was in Blockbuster (UK) and all of the rental copies had a red band along the bottom of the cover stating that the film is Not Suitable for Vending Machine Rental? What does that even mean and why is it unsuitable?

It means that it's not even worth renting for a dollar (or any money, for that amount).

It's always funny until someone gets hurt and then it's just hilarious!
