The movie was filmed in Bulgaria apparently (so it was written on Wikipedia; I didn't bother to verify), perhaps that might mean something. Or, you could check the actors' pages. I did notice a British accent at the beginning and Chavez' obvious Mexican accent, which didn't really bother me. Everyone else sounded fine.
As for the ending, they only carried two bags each since that was all they could physically handle -- so, yes, there were leftovers.
I actually kind of enjoyed the film. I just wish they would tell us what happened to the other films' survivors. I liked the burnt tower nod. I also think the one killer 'hillbilly' worked fine. The second movie hinted the crazed 'hillbilly' population was depleting. Or would you have rather they included more of them to just continue on making sequels? Which, actually, they did, I guess.
I would have liked to see the soldier get captured and then have the main cop fight for him in court in the future. He did say he wanted to help people in court pro bono in the future. Plus, the soldier really helped them survive, so the judges could pull a Lost and let him off scott free.
And, despite being in the 'jumping the shark territory', they could include a scene where the surviving female takes a pregnancy test and finds out she's pregnant. Perhaps we didn't see all that happened in that cabin. Dun dun dun.
