Is Wendy trying to be like Oprah?
I can see why she would want to, due to Oprah's success. However, I noticed that at least for two days Wendy talked about her best pal. Is this pal going to be her Gayle?
Poetist, I don't think so because Wendy comes across to me as a loner i.e. she doesn't appear to like or need the company of, say, a BFF. I don't know if that is the case (your Gayle scenario) but this gal pal Regina is not new. She was mentioned sporadically on Wendy's radio show eg they were the only black girls in their town. Regina even appeared on WBLS and Wendy being Wendy had to emphasize that Regina is married to a white guy. Haha And speaking of friends, I'm curious if Wendy is still best friends with Lisa Carnegie, who was on Season 1 dressed as Ethel to Wendy's Lucy.

I wouldn't say loner. I would think more as Wendy's got a man and no time for a BFF. Best believe, if Wendy didn't have her pimp, she would be w/her BFF. She has said this multiple times on the show.
However, with that said, I wonder if she is trying a new angle. She has patterned her career after Howard Stern. Why not, Oprha?
I wonder what does Reg do for a living, because Wendy would need to incorporate Reg in some fashion. That's if, she's doing the Oprah angle.

Wendy said she used to be a model. If Reg is Wendy's own Gayle, I hope she's not afraid to tell it like it is to Wendy when needed. People paint Gayle out as this drooling sycophant that hangs on Oprah's every word, but she's not afraid to check O when necessary. That happened a few times on that road trip they went on years ago and it was funny to see.
