Was there a religious message in this movie?
Stacy Keach's speech to Dwight to convince him to hand over his pistol, Marla trying to appeal to the border patrol officer based on the fact that he was wearing a crucifix (which the camera man made sure to zoom onto)... etc
I'm not sure why, but I just had a feeling that some point about God was being made. Am I reading too much into this movie? Or, were the writers and directors hoping that God would intervene and destroy the set and collect the insurance... who knows....
