No one who likes Scream thinks that it invented it horror. People usually like Scream because Scream acknowledges its own film genre.
Same thing with Cabin in the Woods.
It just seems like you hate self-aware films or films with meta commentary in general, which isn't really a criticism on this movie. Just your own thoughts.
I can't stand musicals because I think it's stupid how they're just singing instead of talking but not gonna criticize musicals for being musicals.
