Why did people hate this movie, I didn't love it or hate it, I thought it was decent

Some didn't think it was scary enough. Some didn't care for the satirical elements. Some didn't like the hype (never a movie's fault).
Let's be bad guys.
They hated it because they really thought this is going to be a typical slasher scary movie ,and didn't play on the toys really a satirical parody on horror and how scary movies suppose to be.
This came out when such horror movies were truly bad, this came out and brought back the horror but also on a sarcastic and fun way.
Because different people have different tastes. It's ok, really.
