Wait a minute, this is a real movie?
Why in Gods name did they make a sequel? No Bill Paxton, no Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

sharePhillip Seymour Hoffman was barely even in the first one?
shareStill
shareI mean he plays a minor character with only a few throw-away lines. Bill Paxton I agree. It's weird that they didn't bring a single person back at all. Not even Helen Hunt?
shareHelen Hunt had a totally different idea for the script and wanted to do a sequel that "would focus on a group of racially diverse storm chasers at a historically Black college," according to an article on the subject. She wanted to direct the film herself.
I don't mind that this is an all-new cast. Glen Powell is on fire right now. I'm looking forward to it.
His presence was very big.

Bruh, there are already multiple trailers out for the film. Pure-blooded Aryan Glen Powell stars.
sharesadly, because an originally cool premise can be cashed in again and again because younger audiences expect NEW films. by now the original looks older and dated to the young. I get it. doesn't mkae it right, but hollywood wants to cash in.
shareThere aren't enough good tornado movies in my opinion, so I'm looking forward to it.
sharewhile I do agree.... why does it have to be a remake/related/sequel instead of something original and entertaining???
shareWell it would seem that one obvious answer is that the studio wants to capitalize on the name recognition of the first film.
While I am all for original stories, and think Hollywood is going way overboard these days with all the sequels/prequels/remakes/franchises, I am not against sequels as a matter of principle. Imagine if we never got Terminator 2, The Last Crusade or Aliens.
As long as this film is a fun and well-made movie, and respectful of the original--which it appears to be from the trailer--then I will be happy with it.
