I really enjoyed this movie, but I can't seem to find anything like it!

Memento is one of my favorite "follow the clues" movies. That one kept me guessing til the end!

I agree about "My Little Eye" and "Cube" having a similar feel. "Frozen" is kind of similar in that it is just a few characters trapped in one place. Also, "Reservoir Dogs" is like a character study with everyone trapped in one warehouse. But by no means is "Exam" anywhere near as good as "Reservoir Dogs".

The man they could not hang(1939) is a very early example where people are trapped in a booby trapped house by an inventive psycho.
