Surprisingly great watch! Missed opportunity at the end...

I remember the original was such a controversial taboo growing up, you could not rent it at the video store and needed to watch a bootleg - considered illegal.

Now fast forward and this family friendly fare is a trilogy!!!! on Netflix. Well I had to check it out and I was surprised that it was yes exploitive gory fun and really well made.

About the ending, I thought it really missed an opportunity to reveal that the girl was writing a horror novel about deathtraps or something like that and the perps had definitely picked on the wrong girl.

I haven't gotten to the third film for the return of this character, but I wish they put something like that to give her character and source of stength some more weight.
