In both justice leagues we have well armed and sophisticated group of people holding up a bank to explode a bomb that will take down 4 city blocks.
There aim was to bring down humanities technology to stop darkseid invading.
That made no sense at all - as you are literally your just blowing up 4 city blocks and themselves and then life would go on and darkseid would invade anyway.
I could say if they went into Norad and tried to launch every american nuclear weapon at Russia and China and expect retaliation to end all world major cities and bring back earth to the dark ages or there was bomb in every major city around the world that could have been something.
What would they have achieved if they blew up the bomb?
There was no purpose to that scene other than to show off WW's skills. At the end of the fight, WW could have just punched the guy, but instead chose to obliterate him and the entire floor which looked cool, but made no sense.
Exactly, no doubt some innocent police officers either died or got injured by all the debris that fell from WW's blast.
But the scene could have much better represented if it was like the original 'superman the movie' where she had to destroy multiple missiles or bombs and couldn't save everyone.

They didn't know about or care about Darkseid. They were just a radical terrorist cell.

Nothing but a body count, much like the typical Jihadists from the "Religion of Peace".

In that case it makes it even worse - i thought it was to bring the world back to dark ages to stop outside forces coming to invade.

but that wasn't there goal it was to bring europe back to the dark ages, so how would destroying a 4 city block do that?

Every religion has there own terrorists, its just some use knives, other guns, some tanks and other drop bombs from thousands of feet above - some even have the gall to say they bring democracy to a country while slaughtering the population.

I'm not really sure how bringing humanity back to the dark ages would stop Darkseid, lol.

I guess to spawn copycat terrorists? I'm not sure, it's sort of like Jihadists saying they're going to destroy Western freedom by randomly blowing up mostly Arab marketplaces in first-world and developing countries.
It doesn't make a lick of sense, but some people do it.
But to your point, no it doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the times. If it were the mid 20th century then an IRA terrorist cell would make sense. But in [current year], the more sensible villains should have been from the "Religion of Peace", given that they're the most visible right now when it comes to causing senseless violence against civilians in first-world nations.

No arguments here.
I still argue that Cheney, Rumsfield, Powell and the rest of that group should have been jailed for war crimes. reply share

i'm not into comics but just movies so assumed if earth was back into dark ages then why would an outside power bother destroying the world and if they wanted to invade they could put the population into slavery without killing.

most jihadists pick soft targets because they are easy, they don't have the weapon, training or sophistication to commit stuff like CIA, KGB/FSB and mossad commit in there terrorist acts.
The bank bombers looked to be a well organised group, good training & heavy weaponry at there disposal, so odd they would just go in to blow themselves up when they could have remote detonated or attempted more bombings at once.
If this scene was just to show Wonder Woman power/strength then it was a very poor choice as she could have stopped a number of different things/scenarios without it being cringey.

Think Libya was pretty much first world country under Gaddaffi, but he chose to end dollar supremacy and looked what happened to him, his choice meant the country is now in the dark ages.

Well, Darkseid didn't have plans on killing anyone anyway. That was the point of the Mother Boxes. He just didn't feel like fighting senseless wars, opposite of Thanos, who made it his life's mission to "balance" the galaxy/universe, through years of war, if necessary.

Yes, this is very true. Sacrificing themselves when they were as competent as they were was pretty stupid, since they could have committed far more crimes given their resources/efficiency, sort of like in the movie The Foreigner, where they used witless accomplices to be the suicide bombers while the smart ones stayed in the shadows.

We live in the age of the woke where "white supremacy" is the arch villain even though it makes zero sense in relation to anything dealing with real life. It's considered a cardinal sin these days to have Arabs, middle-easterners or blacks as villains, even though it would have made way more sense if counter-culture refugee terrorists held up the hostages and Wonder Woman had to stop them, since they're the ones causing most of the violence in real life within the U.K., Sweden, Denmark, and France right now.

As i say why conquer a backworld planet with little to offer darkseid, but a technology rich and challenging world make it worth his while.

Exactly there could been a number of scenarios to show an attack of some sort and then WW powers to stop them and not look stupid - " the lasso of truth compels you to tell the truth" " "Can i be like you when i grow up" there so much terrible cringey dialogue and the fghting cgi in that scene makes even Sci-Fi channel movies looked like masterpieces in comparison.

I don't really care if it was black or white or asian group or if it mirrors real world or not, its just that it was done in really really a bad way.
