Why?
Why take a great psychological thriller type of movie, and make a sequel that's a hack and slash horror flick. That makes no sense at all. It's going to reflect poorly on the entire series.

I didn't think this was just a slasher flick. And from what I've heard, the 2nd Butterfly Effect was the one that "reflected poorly" on the series.
shareI agree. This one would have made a better sequel. The first one was just plain sad. That perverted roommate and some of the scenes with him having sex was a real turn off as movies go and I think that it would have been a better movie.
I thought this one was a better psychological thriller and after a while, I suspected the sister. The ending was a bit eerie and left room for a sequel to this one. I thought it was interesting that the sister dies in the fire and then the little girl seems a bit insane and interested in fire. Go figure.
