From the Cuban dictator himself, Castro: socialism doesn't work
What do you have to say now, Michael Moore?

I don’t know what Moore would say, but I would say; "That article shows Castro believes the Cuban model of government doesn't work, this does not mean socialism doesn't work. Come back and see me when you have gained a modicum of intellect, or have gained an iota of perspective from beyond your parochial Yank little world, Dumbo."

That's because it's absolutism of thought. People believe it's like a switch. Either you have to have a fully greedy capitalist society, or total, utter socialism where absolutely nothing is private.
We don't need Cuban-style socialism. We don't need the cRapitalism we have now. We have to tap from the best parts of every system. We need a system where people realize that the ability to become wealthy, the right to live the American Dream, comes with the responsibility of keeping the road to the Dream paved for those that are still trying to navigate it.. Instead of achieving it, while blowing up the road behind them to block everybody else from being able to access it.
Freedom comes with responsibility. If those freedoms are abused to deny the freedom of others, then the system will eventually break down and deny freedom to ANYBODY.
I remember reading about this article when it came out. Thanks for the link, jjk.
