Common nominators in Moore's movies

He speaks alot about people with alot of money standing close to the political figures, and being able to manipulate them in passing bills that are beneficial to them. Like the scene in Sicko, where the millions of dollars popped up over the heads of the politicians.

Also I don't get how people in america are so afraid of socialism. They seem to always think in extremes: A country is either 100% socialsm or 100% not. A quote from this movie: "I can see obama turning this country socialist". We in Europe have socialist parties yes, but they never make out all of the government. Again something out of sicko but anyways: The healthcare system in europe is socialist, and how is that not a good thing?
I've always thought the 2 party system of america to be weird. What if your ideas are somewhere in the middle?


Anyways in short: Isn't there something wrong with their political system in total??

PS: I'm absolutely no politics expert, I'm just interested in the matter. I may have a totally wrong look at the things over there since I'm from Europe, so in that case please enlighten me.
