AMERICA: This is your Sputnik moment

After seeing Mike More's latest I can say that while I don't agree with everything that he says the underlying message is this: The American Empire is doomed because the holy system known as Capitalism has been warped and corrupted in such a way that it is eating away at the very the centre that makes up the country - THE PEOPLE.

Just like President Carter's crisis of conscience speech people have to wake up and realise that the american system - Both Corporate and Washington no longer caters to the people but a select few. Lobbyists, K-street whores and the ever expanding lecherous legion of interest groups have such a selfish strangle hold on the political system where they each want a slice of the cake that gets divided to share out with only a select group of their friends and little to nothing trickles down to bottom where most of you are. (Interest is the key word here: Not for your interests, definitely not...)

This is a recipe for disaster - It wont happen today but you will wake up in say 80 years from now to realise that China has become the new and only Superpower in the modern world. IT WILL HAPPEN UNLESS YOU CHANGE. Just like Greece or Rome - Empires fall when they turn in on itself. Do you think it is a coincidence that the Tea party movement has formed? While conservative media is doing what it does best by channeling that anger to the wrong places to further the status quo it is painfully clear that this is class warfare. This a war to the death. The system has made it clear that if you are not in the top 10% of the wealthiest you do not deserve to have a stable job with union protection, the right to not have your home repossessed, to not be exploited by the company you work for that will cash in your inevitable death. Don't be afraid of socialism, Historical figure Jesus was socialist - The majority of the founding father were socialists. The idea that government should provide essential services to its people - Things like social security, helping out people who are down, the poor and needy, never forget we are all 5 meals away from revolt - you could be them next week - Socialism is not to be feared, it's the people running it that need your scrutiny and if it's done right - That's not government intrusion it's called DECENY. Where has it all gone? Remember that socialised services such as the Fire, police and library services are just a few examples of how privatisation is not the only option. And if you do want to privatise something give every single librarian a stock option that makes them in charge of the way things are run. Not to some faceless boardroom - Every vote affects them personally and then there is accountability...something that the 2008 financial crisis how shown very little of...

Obama whether you hate him or not, he stated it clearly: This is you sputnik moment: Adapt or die. This is Jimmy carter telling what you didn't want to hear - You didn't hear him then and you probably wont hear him now. But don't say you weren't warned.
